They call it Graduation (and yes...it's a tad over the top), but it's still pretty cute to see little pre-schoolers graduate! Kennedy was so happy to get to finally sing all of the songs she'd been preparing on the big stage with all the other kids, and she loved getting to walk across in front of everyone when her name was called to get her diploma from her teacher Mrs. Stuart. Kennedy ran up to her and gave her the biggest hug! Teachers really do make such a difference.
After the Graduation Ceremony, Kennedy was excited to show us all around her classroom & meet all her friends from school. There were 4 girls in her class, and they were all such great friends! She talks about them all the time and we luckily get to see some of them still to play from time to time.
Kennedy really loved her class & was actually sad when summertime came (crazy girl!), but she is very excited for Kindergarten and riding the bus next year when she gets to go to the BIG school with McKinley!
So, what did we do to celebrate this momentous occasion in our lives? Well, we left straight from her graduation to drive down to D.C. to go eat at Cafe Rio! They just opened the first of many Cafe Rios to be in the D.C. area, and it was so nice to be able to drive down and just walk in and order! The kids were so excited FOR me to get to have my favorite food, and it was so fun! We all enjoyed it very much...as you can see.
We then stayed overnight at a hotel so the kids could swim & play, and the next morning Milt and I swapped taking turns going to the Washington DC temple before going back to Cafe Rio AGAIN on our way back home. Dinner two days in a row was so yummy, and totally worth the drive -- how often do you think we can get away with driving down to D.C. for a quick bite to eat? Is a 2 1/2 hour drive (each way) too far to drive for take-out?

That's a big fat NO. I would drive that far for a lot of things. One of course being food. I drove all the way to Texas for blue bell ice cream!
