Kennedy had a GREAT birthday this year. She had been counting down for almost the entire year, so it was with great excitement (and relief) that we all anticipated the big day. And turning 5 is the absolute best for her because Kennedy is a big fan of "finger-counting" (trust me on this one - she is definitely a visual learner). She is so happy to be a whole hand-worth of fingers now!
Kennedy is our bunny rabbit fanatic (her "lovey" is a bunny blanket), so she was very excited that we made Bunny cupcakes for her Preschool class. She was very happy that she got to help decorate them herself and everything! And if you look closely at the cupcakes and are wondering about the bunny ears - then yes, those are made from gum and were given to pre-school aged children. This was not a well-thought out or pre-shopped for activity and we were getting desperate with the candy we had on hand. But Kennedy LOVED it, and that's the most important part, right?
That night we let Kennedy choose any restaurant she wanted to go to for dinner, and what did she choose? Oh, just the eatery at Target right by our house. We did everything we could to talk her into something better, but she would not be swayed!
When we got back from our fabulous dinner Kennedy got to open her obscene amount of birthday presents (thank you everyone!), and she really loved all the great things she received and has been very happy to have some "bigger girl" toys that she can play with McKinley.
Then for her fabulous Birthday cake, Kennedy decided months ago (in October) that she wanted her candles put into a Zwahlen's Caramel apple, just like we get for Mommy's birthday (and once Kennedy makes up her mind about something -- it rarely changes!) These are her favorite treats, and Kennedy was even more excited that this time there was an apple made into a Bunny Rabbit just for her, with her name on it and everything! It was the best present/apple/cake ever (thanks to Sister Pope & the Zwahlen's ladies)!
We absolutely adore our Kennedy girl to pieces, especially when she's not driving us crazy (is that possible?). Kennedy is just 100% unique to herself, and we're glad she got to have such a great birthday and that it lived up to her expectations! Next up....the pictures from her first ever "friend" birthday party!
