Isn't it great to get a whole weekend to celebrate the 4th of July? We had a fun time celebrating on Saturday, Sunday, AND Monday this year! And it's nice that we have friends from church who are far away from family like we are that we can get together with, so we had a good time with a bunch of us. We went swimming at McKinley's favorite pool (owned by our friends the Wolfs) followed by firework watching on the trampoline in their backyard. It was great! My favorite picture is of Kennedy getting into the fireworks with the boys...priceless looks on their faces!
The next day we went to church, where McKinley got to join in with the other kids to practice singing the National Anthem multiple times in Primary (and she was VERY excited about that, since it's one of her favorite songs and she complains we only sing it once a year at church!) Later that night on the 4th we went to watch some local fireworks with some fellow church members, and it was a lot of fun too!
Monday was super hot, so we got out our 3 foot kiddie pool and literally we all sat in it and played for a good portion of the day -- it was fabulous! Then we finished off our leftover fireworks and Maddox only cried a few times....that's progress! And McKinley was his own personal helper to make him feel better during the "loud" fireworks.
